The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection has proposed that Regulation B of the ECOA be amended to require that creditors provide copies of all written appraisals and valuations produced in the home loan application process. If this amendment goes through, anyone applying for a home loan secured by a first lien on a dwelling can receive their appraisal information at no charge.
